Hello there,
I am new to this forum and would like to say hello and greetings to all.
My name is Todd and I have been involved in audio for about 5 years. I am very excited to receive my new loud speakers at the end of April. These are being custom built by a small one man operation in St. Louis. If you are interested check out his website. www.vaporaudio.com (http://www.vaporaudio.com) I am getting the Breeze speakers.
I am 45 years old. I just got remarried about 4 months ago to an awesome woman who is an intense musicphile. We love going out to hear live music and listening at home. We are driving out to Phila to see Gomez in a few weeks! I also have a beautiful 5 year old daughter. Add a snake, mouse and a cat to my brood and there you have my awesome family. lol... :D
I an still a novice when it comes to setting up my systems , so I would love to have a person or persons to help me set up my new speakers to get a proper soundstage, integrate with my subwoofer etc. and to have a fun listening session.
I listen to all genres of music except country, although I love Alt. Country, Alt. Rock, Folk, some Jazz, Bluegrass etc.
My favorite band is Radiohead. Lately I am crazy for The Antlers, and Bon Iver, and Son Volt
Peace,
Todd

Welcome to the nut house!!

RADIOHEAD! Are you a Wilco fan as well?
Welcome to VHF! ;D
-
Hey Sunydaze,
Yes I am a very big Wilco fan. I saw them on their last tour when they played the Carnegie in Oakland. ;D
This was one of the better shows that I have ever seen. THREE hours of non-stop jamming!!
I have their new cd, but I have not had time to listen to it seriously yet. I have only heard a few cuts. The first song off this cd blew me away though.
I also love Son Volt who have a similar sound. Have you every listened to them?
Todd
-
I have not.
I didn't listen to Wilco until last month. One of my professors gave me a copy of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I was impressed.
-
I'd definitely recommend giving Uncle Tupelo a listen as well. Jay Farrar left to form Son Volt and the rest of the guys reformed under the name Wilco.

Greetings Todd!
Welcome to the Forum!

Thanks Carl
Reverend, I have listened to Uncle Tupelo, but I need to listen to more of their albums. It seems Jay Farrar is on a small tour
with a new band supporting their new Woody Guthrie tribute album.

Two of my very favorite albums are the Billy Bragg and Wilco tribute albums to Woody Guthrie called Mermaid Ave. Volume I and II. Both these albums are fantastic!!!!! Billy Bragg and Wico came together to form a band to write the music for found Woody Guthrie lyrics. The music and lyrics just come together to form 2 masterful albums!!!
I will be picking up this new tribute album.

Welcome :)

Yup, the mermaid ave. albums are good. My favorite album is Being There which I have on double vinyl. I think i've seen all those bands/guys in different variations live throughout the years.

Thanks Bunni !!
Is there a specific area on here dedicated to discussing new bands, music , concerts etc... ?
The new Jay Farrar tribute band to Woody Guthrie called the New Multitudes is available on Spotify.
I only listened to two songs so far. It sounds good though.
Thanks,
Todd
