I'm selling the ESS AMT1B speakers I picked up a while back. They have replacement woofers and the passives are gone, but they sound very good as they sit. Tweeters are in perfect working order, one is missing a plastic end-cap which is cosmetic. Parts brand new from ESS to replace the woofers and passives with brand new (factory) parts is $400, I'll install for free if you'd like. There are some chips in the corners of the veneer, but these are quite nice looking speakers.
Selling them at $300 as they sit. That's what the tweeters are worth, so the rest is free.

I listened to a pair of those at a car repair place in the Dormont area (IIRC). They sounded great. I think they were all original.

Love the sound of those old ESS. The Goldenear Tritons I use now have a "high velocity folded ribbon" that is essentially a modern version of the Heil Air Motion Transformer in the AMTs. If the tweeters are good (and I trust Adam on that) they are worth the money, IMO.

Alternatively, I may be interested in trades / partial trades for a nice TT cartridge, as the oldddd grado I've got is on its last leg. A $40 AT cartridge is outperforming it.

AT carts rock.
