Tom, I'll buy that Temptations anthology. And Dreamboat Annie.

Of course, this is pending on whether or not you want to part your new collection out.

Huffman - since you are looking,  I have a brand new Shure M97xe (shrink wrapped,  received from Shure yesterday) that would make a great cart for your new TT.  Yours for $60.    :P

Thank you for the offer, though I think the TT I want is a VPI Classic.  I don't think they use Sure carts.

You need a Clearaudio Statement.

That would be a great choice, but I am not spending $17,000 on a TT.

Not going to bid against Tom, but that is a great lot if the vynl is in good shape.  Personally, I care a lot about the covers too and most of those.

That Shure cart will fit anything with 4 leads and is probably the best buy in budget carts.  I have one on my Pioneer and it really produces.  many have two TTs.  One for normal and one for records that might not be perfect.  Hell, my cart was $600 and I just can't take a chance on a new record until I check it out on the Pioneer.
As to a TT, I would consider the new Rega  RP1  http://www.amazon.com/Rega-RP1-Turntable-Grey/dp/B004B3GELG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1309033024&sr=8-4 (http://www.amazon.com/Rega-RP1-Turntable-Grey/dp/B004B3GELG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1309033024&sr=8-4)  You really can't beat tat now in a new TT at that price.  Keeping an eye on Audiogon is good for excellent used ones, but don't be sold by the hyped up looks some of the new China crap has.

A good TT is kinda like a fine instrument.
There are some just excellent buys out there in old Pioneers and Duals for almost nothing.  Steer clear of the used (mostly Tecniques) disk jockey rap tables.

I'm trying to scratch up enough to get that Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine.  :-[  A turntable like that would be useless without a good cleaning machine.   ::)

Wayne.

Go with a VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine or the Consonance Vinyl Machine

http://shop.grantfidelity.com/Consonance-Vinyl-Record-Cleaning-Machine.html (http://shop.grantfidelity.com/Consonance-Vinyl-Record-Cleaning-Machine.html)

Both are better than the Nitty Gritty. I have the VPI, but if I was purchasing today, I would go with the Consonance
due to the Aluminum case (frame)
