Title: Heathkit AR 1302 receiver
Post by: MacGeek on March 18, 2013, 09:29:09 PM
I picked up a very clean and fully functional Heathkit AR 1302 receiver at a sale this weekend.  After considerable research, I cannot find a manual (I did find a schematic), unless I part with $40, which will more or less kill the fun of a cheap weekend find.  Is anyone familiar with this unit?  It has a couple of front panel functions that are foreign to me or don't do what I normally expect.  For example, a "tone" button that does not defeat bass/treble, insert filters or adjust phase that I can hear (there is a separate loudness button).

The receiver has adjustable input gain controls for both channels of every input, tape loops a fine tuner (AM and FM) and a number of other features not common in a vintage mid 1970s mid-fi receiver.  The distortion spec is .25%, which all adds up to a rather nice piece.

Other than needing a cap or two, I may want to hang onto this receiver for awhile.  Does anyone have any knowledge to share?
