Now I know why he photographed them with the covers on.

"RADIO SHACK SUBWOOFER"? Aw hell.

The woofer is not right of course.

I had a set of these and they sounded great.  Sold them to a co-worker this year.  Mine were in excellent shape.  Got them from Steve the Speaker man a few years ago.

Yeah. By the time you get those things back into proper order, you could have paid to get your car aligned.

Yep - these speakers is the poster child for low SAF.   They were beat with the ugly stick by the designer.

But those drivers sure are time-aligned!

Guys, I have to disagree on the WAF for these Heathkit speakers.  They look very similar to Vandersteen Model 5as, which I think are a good looking speaker.

My wife liked the Heathkit speakers I had like the ones at Trader Jacks.

The VanDers benefit from a tapered shape from the base to the top thought,  that helps the aesthetics. And the grill hat on the Heaths does not fit snugly on the base - it sort of plops there held by gravity.  I imagine Heaths in good condition would yield a more fav impression.  These ones have had a tough life. So, given all the surprises, how do they sound?

I did not try to connect the Heathkits up,  the Realistic "subwoofer" woofer turned me off.  The Dynacos sounded great though. Maybe I will try them on Saturday,  I can hit TJ on my way to the gym.  I am surprised that no one has snatched the Marantz 1070 - that integrated is in great shape and sounds as good.  Could probably use a relaxing recapping.   ::)
