Hello again.
http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/ele/4869394828.html (http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/ele/4869394828.html)
One of these days I'll figure out the picture thing. Or not.
$300 and I'm pretty firm. Well actually (insert winter hibernation joke here).
If I were to keep them I would lightly sand them. (And I mean some 800 or 1000) watco and recap. But they sound great now.
thanks regardless.

Hello ESM!
What year were these Altecs made?
-
I am going to take a stab at it and say '74
Both speakers are marked with 74 on the back as seen in the photos.
However the only info online I can find says around 1970.
from what I've read the crossovers are the downfall but with a little work they will rip.
I currently have them hooked up to a pilot 602 and the sound pretty damn good.

Well maybe 300 is to high. Or perhaps I am an impatient seller.
Make me a reasonable offer.
Thanks
-
Wish they were down here...
-
I am sure they can be shipped
-
SOLD.
-
Congrats!!!

Thanks Kingman.
The kid was running a middle aged (70's) HK 45 wpc solid state integrated amp. I hope the horns won't be too harsh for him. They sounded great with tubes.
And for future reference I will ship to confirmed forum members at their cost as long as you can have a trusted source inspect them prior to shipment. I don't want to tarnish my name (hahahaha) do to a shipping mishap.

I was lusting after them myself but alas...don't really have the room. Bet they would have sounded good with my little Carverfest monoblocks.
