Title: Hey everybody.
Post by: Wintec on July 06, 2010, 01:58:21 AM
Sup everyone,
New to this site, thought I would stay and make myself comfortable for a while :D Was going to post some picture of my setup... but here, posting pics of sony tower speakers and a magnavox receiver would probably make me the laughingstock of the site ;D Anyways, vintage gear has been a garbage night/goodwill thing for me up until now, and I really want to start working my way up to the serious stuff 8) I took a look around the site, and already like it here! Hope you all have some patience for a noob like me, haha.

Welcome to the forum Jordan.. No one here will judge you by what you own. Everyone has to start somewhere. If you are located in the Pittsburgh area, stop by the Vintage HI FI store on Babcock Blvd. Tom will get in to some serious gear on a budget... Everyone should go to his store, you will be amazed at the gear he has..

If you've been on the other sites and then stumbled upon us, you'll feel at home. You could come in here and say that you run an amp that you made as a 9th grade science project that barely pushes 2 watts per channel and more than a few folks would think it's interesting.

Post your pictures, dude. We all start somewhere. The important thing is that you have fun with it.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! :D Well, here is an old pic, all I have for right now. My camera is MIA so it might be a bit before I can snap a few pics of my more interesting receiver. The receiver in the picture is a Magnavox stereo 1500, and the speakers are Sony SS-U807's. The receiver I have in question is a Wintec R1015, and there is a lot of info on it is bigger brothers online (ToTL models)... but not much on this one. I have been to the store already :D one of the reasons I decided to join this site.

I dig the old school Sony's.

How does that Magnavox do with those towers?

Thanks! 8) and it does great! It has enough power to throw those 10's into the subwoofer's inner metal structure :O I have no info on this receiver though, I basically know nothing about it specs wise. The speakers are supposedly rated 200watt a piece but I doubt that is accurate considering I have maxed them out with the Magnavox.
