Title: Pioneer SX-1050 Thank you Tom!!
Post by: Falcon on July 29, 2010, 12:49:39 PM
Tom tracked down this very near mint Pioneer SX-1050 for me. What a great friend to have, thanks Tom. After a good cleaning, inside and out, it is very near mint cosmetically. Very mint as for as functions go. Everything works great and is in spec. The only cosmetic flaws are, a small scratch on the tuning knob, a few minor flaws on the wood case. I will repair the wood case, and have already started searching for a mint tuning knob. This is a fantastic receiver with 120 w.p.c. of old school power. Man, they really knew how to build these things back in the late 70's. This one made in 1975, and has a fantastic tuner. One of the best I have heard. And I heard some first rate tuners. The amp never runs out of power. The power supply has a huge toroid transformer and a pair of 22,000 uf filter caps. I intend to re-cap this latter, if I keep it long enough. All of the caps are tested and working fine now. Here are a couple pics. Thank you Tommy!!!

Another pic, it took me hours to shine up the RCA jacks on this, years of crust to remove. This was coated in nicotine....
