I found this out in one of the music videos I was watching. You just add &fmt=18&NR=1 to the end of the youtube address. In some videos it makes a pretty big difference.

There's software called Tunebite (I have it) that rips stuff from YouTube (also removes DRM from downloaded tracks) that can dramatically enhance the sound quality.
