Title: Genesis Physics 1
Post by: scorpio333 on December 04, 2014, 05:31:20 PM
I brought these home today. A case of curiosity, not sure if that cat is dead or will survive. The foam on the woofers is long gone. Not a biggie I've refoamed before. Bit of research shows these 8" woofers are the same woofer in the Epi 100's. Since Epi's are more common, I'm hoping maybe someone here has had to refoam a set, if so, where'd you get the foam? Looks like Parts Express has a set, just wondering if there may be a better option.

I did the surrounds on a pair of Genesis 20 (same as yours,  with a bass radiator added) - love em - use them in my shop for music.  I really like the tweeters on these speaks.  Had to recap them though - if they sound funky that may be the cause.

I did come across that site above. Doesn't look like he sells surrounds just whole woofers. Planned to use them in the garage so 20 or so on foam isn't much expense, 120 in woofers and I'd go with something else.

Good to get some feedback they may be worth fixing.
