"A man notices a blonde sucking on the bottom of a Coke can. Curious, he asks her what she's doing. "Don't you know! It says for best taste drink by date on the bottom."

How are you liking the new monitors?

I forget his name... he's new to the club. If you're interested in the RTR, I'm pretty sure Tom could track it down for you.

So how successful was it? How much stuff got sold? ???
-
I think it was a success based on what I saw during the two hours I was there. Being the critical bastard the I can be, I have some improvement suggestions below for the next one:
- Improved marketing. I did not see the advertisements in my areas Penny Saver. We also could have printed flyers and have each member of the club distribute 100 of them in their respective areas (or just create a pdf flyer and send it to each member asking them to print and distribute)
- Choose a date other than Memorial Day, only because so many people travel on that weekend or are imprisoned by their spouses to host visiting relatives.
- Set up more "great combo set ups" using some of the older stuff to show off the vintage stuff.
- Invite companies to sponsor the event (booths? models wearing Carver logo'd bikinis?) and help us advertise - send emails to their respective marketing teams (Polk, etc.)
- Invite the local press to cover the event.

The Ref3a monitors promise to be a lot of fun. already emailed the factory to see if they sell upgrades. I suspect the one lonely cap inside is tired, so that may ger replaced. May redo the grills tomorrow. Will also report more on the sound.
I started the weekend with a new laundry sink to install in my honey-do list. Now I have 136 bricks 3 bags of concrete and a firepit to build, plus a toilet and so e tile work. I hope to get some music listening in late at night.
Do you need more coke?
:-(

I look forward to your review when the speakers are all settled.
I'm good on coke for now. Thanks again for coming through yesterday!!
-
oh man now I need to remove the image from my brain.... yes, females. they would roam the tables with beer on trays.
-
The 3a monitors are sounding better after tweaking the woofer surrounds a bit. The grill frames are nude and ready for new fabric, but I will leave that project for next weekend. Listening to them through a upgraded Carver C-1 on loan from Tom. Great preamp to begin with, made better by Anders.

Few times a year. Tom arranges them.
