Trying to free up some room so I wanted to get rid of a few things...
1) **** SOLD***Crown PS-400 amp: 165wpc @ 8ohm, 260wpc @ 4ohm, 520wpc mono @ 8ohm = continuous power. Good pure clean power. Nice front, only a few scratches, no rack handles. Only issue is that the second channel knob on the front is a little loose. To turn properly, you have to push in and turn or else the knob will spin a little. Might just need tightened. $150.
2) *****SOLD**** Yaqin Tube Buffer: Nice heavy little unit. 2 GE Tubes, 6J1. Very good condition. $50.
3) Tannoy pbm 6.5 Speakers: 2 way, bookshelf size. Don't have much specs on these. Were used in a production studio, still have wall mounts on the back. Very nice sounding speaker, very clear. Cabinets are in very good shape. Used in conjunction w/ a sub they are awesome. Several pairs on ebay right now for $250 that are in much worse shape. Will let go for $100.
***Stock photos from the internet, didn't have a chance to take pictures. If anyone is interested in any of these, IM me, i'll be at the meeting tomorrow after 5pm and can bring them.***

How much of a difference does the tube buffer make? I've thought about buying one before...
-
There is a noticeable change in tone and it does add an amount of gain.

Rev,
Got the tube buffer in the system already. Nice unit, adds a nice touch to the sound of my setup. (A little bit noisier than I anticipated, but only when there is no output going through the system. Don't notice any other time, and it definitely is not a detractor.) Unit is in great shape. Thanks. (BTW - Tom has your $5 - if he didn't buy beer with it already!!! ;D)
It was also great meeting you also.

Well, I figured out a way to do a A/B comparison. Ended up putting the Yaqin in line with the analog outputs of my Toshiba DVD/RW player and pluged the output of the tube unit to the CD inputs on the back of my Yamaha RX-V795a. Then switched between the digital DVD/LD source and the CD source while playing some Neil Young (Harvest). Pretty damn nice sound from the tube buffer. Definitely an improvement for the HT setup.
I also tried the Yaqin between just my Dual TT on the Carver setup. Still a bit noisy compared to when it was on the Yamaha. (Not sure if it is a sensitivity issue with my HR-772, or could be a ground loop/interconnect issue on the Carver system altogether, will experiment more as time goes by.) Definitely a worthwhile investment. Thank Rev.
