Title: Winter Wasteland
Post by: MasterBlaster on February 06, 2010, 11:48:56 AM: This is without a doubt one of the worst snowfalls in recent history here in Pittsburgh.
Roads are impassable, Power lines are down.
My lights are flickering as I type this, I'm concerned we may lose power soon too. :(

Try not to exert yourself in the process of digging out. Can happen without you knowing it!! How is the temperature. We usually get hit with a shitload of snow, then bitter cold immediately following. Makes it real fun to try and spend any time outside clearing out.

My drive drifts really bad (it's about 3ft lower than the yard on either side) so of course it was almost up to my waist in most areas.

We also got lucky enough to have power today, but my wife's family in the south hills has no power, and when they called the power company about it they were told not to expect power until MONDAY AT 8AM!!

Crazy chit.

Did everyone hear about the people stuck on the turnpike for like 15 hrs? Now THAT would suck.

AL, did you go to the ER to have that checked ? It looks really bad.......not to put a scare in you but........I'm just worried about if there's any internal bleeding ?

Bill, Thanks for the concern.

I did get X-rays. The only thing they found was a bruised tailbone.
I was walking down my porch steps and hit an ice patch. My feet flew out
and I went straight down where back made contact with the edge of a step.

It started out as a line almost straight across by back, eventually the bruise spread to the
pic I posted. I understand it will take 4-6 weeks to recover.

Stupidly, I got on a plane that 2 days later and flew to California. What a horrible ride that was ;(

Looks like mount Fiji! (J/K) Glad to hear it didn't end up being more than a severe bruise, to the ego as well. Just to show you, we know what to do with 2 feet of snow in Central NY.
