Title: Mcintosh XR-16 placement.
Post by: Slim-Shaddy on December 22, 2009, 10:26:55 PM
I spent15 minutes searching the web for anyone who had anything to say about the best room placement for their xr-16s and found nothing. I'm hoping someone finds this helpful. After tryin several different angles and distances from the back wall I've found the best placement for these speakers (at least in my room) is about a foot away from the wall aimed straight ahead seperated the same distance as the listening spot is from the wall behind the speakers. This provides the best soundstage and fullest sound in my room which is in a finished basement. My room is about 20' wide by about 18' deep with my listening couch butted up against a support beam about 12' from the wall behind the system. Hope this helps the next unlucky bastard seaching google for xr-16 placement... :-*
