Title: Anybody every hear of these.
Post by: mikey813 on August 15, 2010, 08:04:54 PM
Has anybody every heard of TDC speakers. I just got them as a present from my dad (Falcon377) and can not find anything on them. If anybody has any info please help me. These are not the original woofers but the tweeters are. Thanks in advance. Here are some pictures.

These things sound fantastic. I am surprised at how good they are. If anybody has any idea what model these are or any specs it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Tweeter looks like the CTS "phenolic ring" tweeter...  They made one with a 8 oz. magnet and a cheaper one with a 3 oz. magnet...  Marantz used that tweeter in some of their older speakers...  That's all I can remember at the moment...

If you really need/want specs for tweeter, I may still have an old McGee Radio catalog with their specs (just the tweeter driver)

Mikey,
can't seem to find the old McGee Catalog...  I found some info on a similar, but larger (3/4" diameter) phenolic ring tweeter...  Go to Parts Express and search for item 270-252...  I believe your diameter is 1/2"

Start searching the web for "CTS phenolic ring tweeter"

CTS was the original manufacturer of these type of tweeters...

If I do come across the McG Cat. or other info, I'll post...

enjoy...
