Yesterday TNRabbit hosted his annual get together. I was a little late, having stopping by another buddies house to check out his system. I think I got everyone's name and forum handle correctly, if not I'm sure ya'll let me know

When i got there I found Thuffman, Master Blaster, Rainman and Madmaster checking out Rabbit's 5.1 SACD tunes
(http://images107.fotki.com/v70/photos/6/111916/8324195/IMG_3519-vi.jpg)
Rabbit was showing Graham, I think his name is Graham, anyway I'm calling him Graham, all of the Sunfire and Rane components he has.
Here is Madmaster, after talking with him I learned he has one helluva set up at home. I'm sure we'll be checking that one out soon

Rabbit uses this table to hold the remotes for his Sunfire set up. You can see those awesome speakers in the background. Madmaster would take note of where Tom was sitting and gradually increase the speaker volume up.

Madmaster had Gypsy Woman cranked up to -8.5 on the TG IV and Tom stayed right there, enduring all 16 minutes of that song. What was that Tom? Did you say something? What...?
I must say, I have never heard that song that loud, boy did it sound wonderful. It gave a good testimonial how the Rane gear can help your system...what Tom?

Here's Graham, F1nut and Madmaster in the listening position..Madmaster, what's that in your hand? I thought so, Madmaster is evil with the volume control. That look on his face is pure delight
(http://images116.fotki.com/v108/photos/6/111916/8324195/IMG_3538-vi.jpg)
Later on MB and Rainman would move over to the listening spot

Here's madmaster, F1nut and Thuffman enjoying the tunes and ice'd cold beverages

Here's Rabbitt showing Graham how we all wake up and pray to the Sunfire before we begin the day. Ehm..cough..cough..hack..wheeze..er...what's that center channel speaker?

Here's Rainman, F1nut and Thuffman relaxing by the pool...er table
(http://images114.fotki.com/v145/photos/6/111916/8324195/IMG_3527-vi.jpg)
Here is rabbit convincing Thuffman that this is the remote control for the Rane units.

While Tom enjoy's his favorite ice'd cold beverage
(http://images116.fotki.com/v108/photos/6/111916/8324195/IMG_3531-vi.jpg)
Rainman, not believing what he is seeing, quickly moves in to capture the moment...I dunno, something to do with Tom's drink of choice
(http://images45.fotki.com/v148/photos/6/111916/8324195/IMG_3534-vi.jpg)
Rainman made a move towards the bar and Rabbit moved in to intercept him, Thuffman is giving that look like he's seen that before.

Here's Madmaster, Rainman, F1nut and Thuffman enjoying the music.
It was a great time, I had to roll out of there a little early, but I had a good time meeting some folks from different forums. Looking forward to next time

I know what I'm not doing next spring break.
On a serious note, looks like a good time was had by most. ;D
Rabbit, is that you who owns the Lowthers in the transmission line cabinets?
-
I would like to thank Gary for his hospitality. It was good to see him again and also see Tom, Tom and Mike again. I also enjoyed meeting Robin (tinpan) and Randy (madmaster). All in all, good tunes, good food and good folks. You can't ask for more than that.
I'm getting worried about Mike. I called him today and never heard back from him....starting to wonder what Tom and Tom did with him. :o
-
Jesse, you are most welcome. Thanks for bring Rainman down with you. It was good to see you guys again--I'll try not to make it 2 1/2 years next time~
Jesse, were you doing "The Monkey" in this pic??
Robin, we installed the pool table exclusively to hold all the remotes.....actually playing pool is a great side benefit~
(http://images109.fotki.com/v146/photos/6/111916/8324195/IMG_3514-vi.jpg)
Thanks to all who came. In total, we had folks here for almost 11 hours start to finish. Just wish I hadn't imbibed quite as much Glen Fiddich as I did.... ???
-
Looks like a fun time!

Jesse, were you doing "The Monkey" in this pic??
LOL.....I was trying to lean forward to hear Tom, but the wall was in the way, hence one arm on the wall holding my fat ass up.

Incidentally, the center speaker (5.1 SACD) is a ganged pair of Realistic Minimus 77s. The surrounds were ganged pairs (parallel) of Minimus 7s.
-
Looks like a great time!!! great looking set up you have Rabbit!!
-
Thank you for having us over to the den. I had a great time. What X over are you using in the III's?

I'm using an Ashly 1001 set about 190 hz. I played around & found I like it best there.

The gang shootin' the breeze around the bar...that's tinpan on the right in the blue shirt, since he didn't appear in any of the pics HE took~

That's thuffman, MaddMaster, beemers, & Rainman, left to right.

Rabbit, is that you who owns the Lowthers in the transmission line cabinets?
Nope, those would be tinpan's.
-
Looks like the "boys in the burg" had a good trip. The best is arriving home safe and exhausted!!!!! :P :P :P
-
It must have been a great time! Gary your hospitality and audio system look to be first class!
I love the pic of Jesse doing a "monkey" lap dance for Tommy! LOL!
-
You'll pay for that wise crack, Carl. :-*
-
OK, you guys that were here, let me know what you REALLY think about the system. Be critical; be detailed-- I can take it. I want to know your true thoughts on it....really! My ears are old & beat up & I tune the system for me. I also realize there was more chatting, eating & drinking than many (including me) would have preferred, but sh*t happens~ give it a shot.
Jesse, I know you'll be brutally honest, why don't you start them out.
-
Where are you Daywalker????
-
Anyone can start....
-
I think your system sounded great. I did do some listening and found the sound to be very nice at all audio levels. The active cross overs seem to do a very nice job and you had more than enough power run any song at low or high volume.
-
Kinda hard to make an assessment as I only got to listen to 1.5 songs that I knew and even then all the other mofo's there were yaking away.
