Title: Carver Amazing Silvers
Post by: Reverend on January 02, 2012, 08:39:39 PM
Well I hate to do it but a pair of my dream speakers popped up and the boss won't let me buy them without getting rid of these first.  Wood is in very good condition, new badges, cloth has no holes or tears but some fuzz/wear from age.  Ribbons were rebuilt last year as well as new OEM woofers added.  Also included is the ECS-U equalizer.  EQ comes with original box.  Both items come with original manual.  Forum price of $750.  I'll be listing these on CL and then eTurd by the end of the week.

I'm using a Carver A-760x which is 385 @ 8ohm.  I'm sure you'll appreciate that the speakers I'm looking to buy are Bozak Symphony's.

Have you tried them with less power?  Wondering how they'd sound with my M500-t.  Bozaks + your tube gear will be sweet.

BrianT's amps right before Carver Fest at my house.  We were seeing how broken in the Silver's were.

I did at one time use a Sunfire 300x2 but only for a short time.  That was when the ribbons and woofers had yet to be broken in so I can't comment on the sound.

I've had one of RichP's "supercharged" M-500 amps on my AL-IIIs and it was WOEFULLY inadequate...so I'm guessing a stock one would run out of gas pretty quickly.

Those are so pretty... One of these days I will invest in good ribbon speakers.  First a good paying job!  :P :P :P
