How long you figure it will take to have water rings on top of the speakers?

Very nice, what a nice upgrade.

Water rings on the speakers, I think that's a marriage thing. As nice as my Epic CF3's were. I could never get a certain little woman to understand that i didn't want plants on them. No how no way, It wasn't until after one of them was sporting  a nice water ring, that she finally said "Oh, is that a bad thing".

Really nice set up, don't worry the solution to water rings is..."doilies"  :D

Thanks guys. The oppo is so far so good. Listened to a couple of my sacds for the first time and they sound great. Watched a dvd and it looks great. Way better than they did on my old onkyo player. I don't have any blurays yet, so I'll let you know on that. As far as the water rings... it's a concern, but I have a small towel on the left channel and a large water catch under the right plant which is sitting on a glass plate with rubber feet. Hopefully no uh-oh's while watering the plants.

Ed, check out, believe it or not, WalMart for BluRay. I was shocked how low their prices are.

And here's another......Target. They do some creative things like combining certain BluRay movies together at still very very low prices.

And of course there's the "wonderful" BestBuy. They have a great selection, actually its pretty incredible and carry alot of the various Concert BluRays ED, if you're into that sort of thing.

Just Thought I Would Let You Know.--------BILL(BB3)

I have since gotten new furniture and had to downsize. I never posted pics after, so here you go... Also, I just got a sony altus wireless audio system http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665870078 (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665870078) . Not as nice (or expensive) as a squeezebox, but it get's the job done. Sound quality isn't all that great though. Any ideas on how to improve it? Maybe new DAC?

Kingman, you may be right. However after some scotch,I thought that she looks irritated that Ed was making her stay in the picture and or listening to music on a nice system. Hmmm... :o :o :o ;D

She had no idea I was taking the pic. She was comfortable until I shot the pic, then she got pissed, so I guess you were both right...  ;D

If she didn't get pissed about the picture, she'd find something else to get pissed about.

As a guy who once loved 8-track tapes, I have no problem with SACD, VD-A, BluRay, etc.

For audio, I see it as a small market where the TAMS and the HIRRLL will never be available.  You can't even buy the BEATLES there.

Those are good formats if you have a collection, but for guys starting out, the best way to go is 'COMPUTER AUDIO' as it will not be dated any time soon.  (it changes and improves everyday)  Here are my thoughts on it:  http://yardcrap.typepad.com/yardcrap/2010/08/computer-audio-for-everyone.html (http://yardcrap.typepad.com/yardcrap/2010/08/computer-audio-for-everyone.html)

More each day sound is not stereo, and computer audio is the only way to keep up.

Personally, stereo has entertained me for years, and I see no reason to change, but I do use a computer as my transport.

Especially with a good quality external DAC!

Last year I used a FUBAR I upgraded - really good sound -

This year I got a Benchmark DAC Pre.  That way I was able to do away with my preamp.

I shoot that to Sunfire Trio Ribbons and it sounds great.

and this is my outdoor system -  :P0909-------9990

I recently got the FUBAR IV Plus. It is a fantastic DAC/Headphone amp. (...and its rgpit approved)
