*sigh*.... Is it sad that reading this, I just closed my eyes and envisioned AL-III's in my livingroom in the place of my SDA's?

The gentleman that I sold my AL-IIIs with the Infinity mods is using a pair of Krell KSA 250 amps.  On occasion, he has melted the fuses to the fuse clips.  He has hit 130 dB in his living room!!! :o :o :o :o :o

Replacing 4 amp with 5 amp fuses is asking to smoke a crossover, or worse, A RIBBON.

I think I am gonna go to active crossovers for these down the road. I am back to 4 amp slo blo for the ribbons. Don't want to pop them right now. I am gonna try a few things on the stock x-over to beef them up for the infinity 10" subs in the next month or so.  So many projects... so little time... :-\

Do the Infinity's handle more power or are they for better sound or both???

They need more power and hit a bit harder without excess boom.

I forgot the AL III's are 4 ohm...I've been pumping about 800+ watts into them...they do sound great at high volume but I realize they can't take this for long.... :-\  :'(
