Hmmm... who's been playing music during their downtime?
Why don't we spice things up a bit with a current system photo thread?
-
What's downtime? Nice looking system.
-
Nice rig. How about a description of the gear? I can see what some of it is, but there are some components that are a mystery.

Here's my current mess in the living room that gets the most use. The stylus is the most expensive item in the system. Dual 621, Superscope QRT-440, Sansui SP1200's. The whole thing has no right sounding like it does. I've said it before, I'll never let those Sansui speakers go. I've tried other models and they all sound like the well documented crap, but these 1200's really do sing with low power amps.

The tv setup has a Marantz NR1602 and Infinity Qe's. The Qe's by themselves, out in the open, lack any sort of low end. A happy little mistake of putting them in the armoire changed that, the bass isn't earth shattering but very present.

The book with the huge meter on the cover just rubs it in! Very nice!
-
The book is a great read for all mac geeks and wannabes. I also have since acquired a B & O book, since that brand is my other audio passion

Looking great keep em' coming!

Lots of Hereseys in our small circle of friends. Somebody should have let us all know how bad they suck. >:D
-
I've never really heard heresies.. LOVE forte's tho
-
I may be the only one who didn't care for them. Mark was nice enough to lend me a pair of Forte's, or was it KG4, and then his Heresy's. I loved the efficiency of them with a low power tube amp, but they were just way too bright and forward for my liking. I do believe they were the most capable speaker I've heard with my tube amp to get the highest possible volume level with no break up or distortion. My ears prefer a more "brown", mellow, laid back sound.
-
I never had Fortes or KG4s. I had a pair of something that I can't remember the brand or model number, but it was a "Designed by Klipsch" and made elsewhere black tower with two tens and two horns (IIRC). It may have been those.
I forgot about loaning you the Hereseys but now that you mention in I do remember. I wonder if that was before or after the recap. I've done a few sets of speakers but these had the most dramatic improvement from the work.
They are also very room dependent. Elijah (I think it was Elijah, could have been Tom, again, my mind LOL) marveled at how much better mine sounded than his. I told him it's the room, not the speaker.
-
I would love to try some Fortes in my gameroom and upgrade my originals to Heresy III.
