These speakers sound fantastic. Worth all the effort!

Those look very interesting.

I had a set of Infinity Beta 20's with waveguides. They sounded quite stellar on the top end.

I have been wanting to do a set of those.  How does the mid-range sound?   And what parts did you use?

Mike,

I did the standard ewave described on AudioKarma.org.  Used the original woofers in the Wharfedales.

There are lots more variants of the ewave at this link:

Falcon, if I can do an E-Wave, anyone can. It was a very fun and interesting project. I keep telling Tom that I am going to bring mine to the shop for a demo, but we always have something else going on.

Thank you for the links Scott.  How do you like the sound of your speakers?  Mainly at the crossover point, any dips in the mid range response?

Mike,

They have been out of the listening rotation for a while.  I recall them being a little bass-shy.  Did EQ them once with a Behringer DEQ2496, you can see a picture of the results at this link:

http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=157694&d=1246628813 (http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=157694&d=1246628813)

Need to take into account the room greatly impacts this FR curve though since the measurement is taken at the listening position with both speakers operating with pink noise.

You are welcome to come give them a listen sometime.

If I was doing it over, would ewave a set of OLAs though.

Regards,
Scott

Large Advent E-Waves have bass like strippers have dollar bills. Imagine having the excellent Large Advent bass response with  broad midrange and smooth highs. Here is a link to check out on a buildup:
