My classmate and friend Adam and I were talking the other day.
Adam: "Hey man, you're into audio, right? I'm looking at headphones."
Me: "Oh, awesome. What were you checking out?"
Adam: "I was at Best Buy, I think I'm going to get those Bose Tri-Ports."
Me: "Well, have you checked out Grado, Sennheiser, Audio Technica, even Koss?"
Adam: "Who?"
Me: "When you come over to work on that Tech Lit project, I'll let you listen to some of the above."
So he comes over, we work on our project. A few Franziskaners later, I let him have it. He's a huge Floyd fan, imagine that. I put on Dark Side and let him hear the SR325is's. About 45 seconds into Time, he put it on pause, and sat his beer down.
He said: "Christ, I almost forgot I was holding that beer. What are these things?"
I replied: "Not Bose."
I let him hear my SR60's and my beloved vintage Koss HV-1's. He agreed that all three sounded light years ahead of the Bose "Tri-Port" headphones. When I told him the SR60's cost $40 less than the Bose, that was all she wrote.
