Nice 2238 receiver with near perfect faceplate. All lights work. Black metal case has some discoloring(fading) probably from improper cleaning. Rear is perfect. Some corrosion inside probably from a spill many years ago. Service just done my technician, controls cleaned and are silent, FM aligned, DC offset and amp bias set. Marantz output transistors are there. This receiver sounds very good and gets excellent FM reception, very similar to my 2270. $175

Have to love the flywheel.

The Marantz is beautiful! The blue lights on the dial is Marantz bliss. ;D
It look like it has some fuzzy innards. I don't like fuzzy innards. :'(
Use a makeup brush that you can buy at CVS for about $1 to gently brush all the fuzz off the components inside. A can of air will also be good once you have loosened the fuzz. Flush all the pots and switches with DeOxit. It should be good as new!!

Have to love the flywheel.
Very smooth tuning, but they can't touch the big Pioneers for their precise feel.

Sometimes I think half the joy of listening to AM / FM radio is spinning the dial on those old Marantz / Pioneer / Kenwood / Yamaha units!
