Greetings!
I have a very nice HSU Research 8" bottom firing ported subwoofer with an external 150 watt subwoofer for sale. HSU is known for their musical subs and this one is very nice. This sub is NOT going to give you the HT slam or shake the wall when listening to hip hop. This sub will match up very nicely with a pair of monitor speakers is a small room. Although this is an 8" sub, the cabinet is rather large (and ported). The 150 watt external amp has a variable low pass, phase pot, and gain control. The sub is in very nice condition. It's constructed of study material (MDF?) with a black sock type cover, spiked feet, detachable IEC power cord, no box or manual. Check out the photos to check the relative size of this sub and my dinner :P
Asking $90.

If I had a sub out from any of my amps or preamps, I'd be on this like white on rice. Good luck Carl, I hope it finds a happy home!
Dinner looked good. What was that?

Carl,
I have the BIG brother sub from Hsu with a 12" driver... It looks the same, just bigger! :) GREAT sub... Wish I had the money and/or room for another sub...
Hope you sell soon...

Gound lamb, basically gyro seasonings, yogurt/cucumber dressing, feta cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced banana peppers on a Kaiser roll! I had to have two of them!!

I'll defer to Bill on this purchase. Don't really need another sub, but the price is great. Enjoy Bill!!!

Thanks Scott!
Hey Carl,
I’m Mt. Washington, not sure were you are.
I can drop the $ at Tom's on Tuesday evening, if it's OK with him.
The shop is a short 10 min detour on my way home from work.
No hurry on your part. Drop it off whenever it is convenient for you.
I’ve lived without a sub my entire life, a few more days, weeks or months for that matter, makes no difference to me.
I’m a patient man, just ask Tom ;)

Greetings Bill!
I will drop the sub off some evening this week. Tom can hold your money until you are satisifed with the sub! I'll let you know when the sub has arrived.
I work in Cranberry so I can drop it off on my way home.
Regards,
Carl

I go past Cranberry on my way to Ellwood City every day. :o
Alternate plan #1 in process. ;)

I work at the big Westinghouse facility on Rt. 228. Do you go up 79?
-
You betcha!
I pass the Westinghouse bldg twice a day.
I normally go past Cranberry ~ 5:30 on the way home.
There is restaurant/lounge (don’t remember the name) on the West side of the overpass/cloverleaf at Wexford / 910 & Nicholson Rd. Easy on&off. We could hook up there.
Tag! You’re IT. ;D

Hmmmm!
I'm not native to the area, I live in Monroeville. There is that Restaurant called "Echo" which is right in front of the facility.
Is the place you are referring to just of the 79 Exit at Rt. 910? (Wexford). I wish that I knew more about the businesses in the area. I'm going to shoot you a PM with my phone number.
Regards,
Carl

Just an update to close this thread out.
I met Carl yesterday to pick up the sub. We had great time chatting up equipment, vinyl and audio stuff for about an hour.
Set the sub up last night and with some help from my friend, Dan, had it tuned and dialed in after an hour or so of tweaking.
It is the perfect compliment to my 2-ch system, rounding out the overall frequency range with a V natural texture and filling the low end with crisp, tight detail in a way my two-way mains were never meant to. I couldn’t be happier, and best of all, The wife hasn’t even noticed it.
Thanks Carl. I hope we can get together again soon!

Greetings!
Thanks for the kind words Bill. It was great to meet you and share some audio talk. It's amazing you meet people for the first time and immediately connect. Too bad we didn't have more time. Next time we get together we'll break out the huke pipe, alcohol, then get into the human sacrifices and Satanic worship :o
I was good to meet you. I hope to see you soon. Enjoy the sub!
Regards,
Carl

This is actually a kick ass restaurant. Carmodys. They cater to us older types. The first time I was there was in the mid 70's.
