Title: Opinions on a Dynaco PAS-3
Post by: Slim-Shaddy on April 18, 2012, 03:57:18 PM
I've been "kind-of" in the market for a tube preamp for awhile now, and I'm on a budget... so I'm putting some thought into a PAS-3. It seems to me that it is a pretty basic, nothing special, preamp that is easily modded. How good can they be with modifications, and if I were to get one and have it modded, would I be better off in the long run to just save and get something better to begin with?
Also, if buying one and modding it is a good idea, what is a good pprice to pay for one in good working condition, or in repair condition?
Thanks!!

I have had modded and stock pas 3,   I would not do it again.   Just my opinion.
My Melos, and Tom's Sound Valves easily are better, IMO.   I have them both at my house right now, you are welcome to come check them out, they are both for sale!!
