Hey gang,
I'm thinking about picking up a Little Dot MKII or MKIII to use as a preamp with my Magnavox 8802.
I was wondering if anyone here has any opinions or experience that they can share that may help persuade or dissuade me into making the purchase.
Thanks,
SD

Here is one reason I would not buy it......it uses tubes that I don't own, and I got a lot of audio tubes of all kinds.

Also, there is a Channel Master 6600 in my garage with your name on it. For what you'd spend on that Little Dot, you could refurbish the 6600 and buy a new set of tubes. Or, I probably got a Marantz 3200 preamp for less than the LD you might like.

Are you on the road this week?

Anything in a 6v6, 6EU7, or 6CA4 laying around?
-
I am not traveling this week. Am off Friday the 5th. Have a pair of 6V6, no 6CA4.

Will have to look and see if I have any 6EU7s. Actually, I do have some 6AC7s.

SD, I second Scott's advice. The refurbed Channel Master would be a much better preamp.
A new preamp that you may want to consider is the Dared SL-2000A. Look Here (http://www.amazon.com/electronics/dp/B001T8H40G)
I'm sure you can find these used for a little less. I have heard a lot of good things about that preamp. Check the reviews out there. Do a Google search.
