Those of you who know me personally, understand my passion for flower gardening is equal to my love for vintage audio and music. I spent the last two weekends removing my plants from the garden and into the mulch. I garden predominately with annuals. It allows me to change my garden from year to year, introduce new plants and experiment. My garden takes a lot of planning, preparation, planting, maintenance, weeding, feeding . . . . I think you get my point. Each year at this time it's like saying goodbye to a friend. Please allow me to indulge with a few photographs of this years garden. Goodbye till next year!

Carl, It's beautiful. I can't imagine the work you must put into it. Are there any outdoor speakers hidden among the flowers?
-
Thanks Klaus! No hidden speakers disguised as rocks lol! I have thought about it!!
-
Congrats! Your effort is evident.

Fantastic work! Luckily spring will be here before we know it!

Carl, Very nice...

Very nice Carl.
I spent a couple of years while in Little Rock cultivating a nice flower garden. Concentrated mainly on perrenials so I didn't have to replant each year.
Sadly, I drove by my old house a few years ago after a bad drought in Arkansas and the new owner had let every last plant die.

As always Carl, simply beautiful.

Thanks Klaus! No hidden speakers disguised as rocks lol! I have thought about it!!
Your flowers would grow better and love you more.

I think that I need some rock speakers. I could play coyote howls at night to keep the deer away and the neigbors awake >:D

Looks great. I found gardening to be a stress reliever for a while when I lived in CA. If I had a bad day at work I would drop by the hardware store on my way home and buy a plant or a bunch and spend the next couple of hours planting them. I had no idea what I was doing - I looked at the flowers, found one I liked, and took it home. I would name them after my coworkers, particularly the ones that pissed me off the most. At the beginning it looked crazy but eventually they all grew and it looked respectable. Maybe I should learn how to actually do that. Here are some sample pics of my handiwork:

Very nice Pepe!! I envy the weather in California, most everything will grow there.
I never thought about naming my flowers, Hmmmmm! :(|)

Very nice, but once again, I don't see any speakers. If I named flowers after coworkers, I would end up taking a squirt on at least some of them, killing the flowers (which isn't fair to the plants).
In the spirit of full disclosure, I have no speakers in my yard either; I just kick open the patio doors and crank up the Hi Fi. Then again, I don't spend the kind of time you must to have a garden like yours.
