Title: System in the works
Post by: StephenWVU on July 14, 2014, 12:44:31 PM
Hi Guys,

So my system is pretty much completely different than last time.  Sounds pretty good!

VAC Renaissance 140 amplifiers
VAC CPA1 pre
VPI TNT V-HR TT with Van den Hul Colibri XGP cart
Martin Logan ReQuest speakers
I am using a Muse DA-20 DAC
The tuner is a Marantz 20B that is property of Brian Harper

Apparently some of the images did not load.  Time to add to this.  I am still waiting on the rest of the tubes from the VAC amps so for now I am only running half power..

I just realized that the picture doesn't feature the CPA1.  I will add another photo later.

Very nice man.

I'll bet you can't wait until it's time to purchase new tubes for the 140's. :)

I actually got them with junk tubes from what I have read.  I purchased a new set of tubes from VAC and the price was anticipated.  Thankfully I got a killer deal on the amps themselves and Keven Hayes offered me a great deal on the tubes so it wasn't as painful as you might expect. (still painful) Once they are retubed and I break them in, I will comment on the sound. At 65ish watts a channel pure class A they sound great.  I can't wait to see what they sound like with the better tubes and more power. For now I am happy.

I am not much into tubes, but I am drooling over your turntable.  Nice system.
