Title: Orphan Pioneer CS-88A woofer?
Post by: Sir Thrift-a-Lot on November 09, 2014, 09:08:27 PM
So, I am refurbishing a pair of Pioneer CS-88As.   One was intermittent and I thought it was a crossover issue.   I recapped and the one was still intermittent.   Turns out that the one woofer cuts out at one spot in it's excursion.   I've never done a voice coil-ectomy and thought that before I tried, I would see i any of you have one of these laying around.   If not, I will probably just find a new pair of woofers, but it would be nice to keep the cabinet as original as possible.   TIA.

STAL,  I have a pair that are working that I need to somehow get to you !!  Well not the a's, but CS88's.  Along with that Pioneer receiver.

I'll gladly take those, but the 88s and the 88a are completely different driver complements.   Where do you live?

I think Resident is in Uniontown.

If he is, I can get them from Resident for you STaL.

Alexis lives in White Oak, I'm over there often. I can meet you off of 48 in White Oak if you wish.

Actually right off of Bailey ave on North Gallatin.  Ive been trying to get this little set up to STAL for ages.  I work in New Stanton right off of 70 at Fedex.

Depending which way you are coming, could meet up there as well.

Thanks 8W, but I am carless at the moment.   I'm hoping to get that rectified soon, but don't grab anything you don't have room for.

One person had a lead for me, but it fell through.   I figured I'd give this one more bump before I cannibalize the cabinets.

STaL - Eventually I'll be at your place to drop off those horns. It just most likely won't be before Thanksgiving.

If you don't mind waiting, I have the room for them.

I totally don't mind waiting.   BTW, I forgot all about the horns, but may have use for them, so thanks.
