There is no secondary system at my house - it is all in the basement - one for HT one for music.  yes

Have you considered a Theta Casablanca 3?  The Xtreme DAC cards are absolutely incredible and by far the best processor I have ever heard.  I deeply considered getting one but at least for the time being have no space for surround sound.
