I have these speakers and they are in the way right now, In good working condition, but they do buzz on certain low frequencies. I pulled the grilles and everything looks as it should. Mind you, I was putting more power than I should and listening to music that these were not designed for. Pots need some deoxit. Overall, in excellent physical condition. These sold for $1200 in 1984, definitely a cool looking speaker. Manual included. Forum price $150.

I have encountered buzz and rattles and found it is sometimes a loose driver mounting screw or a wire inside, against a component or inside speaker wall. A toothpick in a rattling screw hole often fixes the problem

I like to dip the toothpick in wood glue first.

I personally think it was me and my music choices, electronica and hip hop, hooking them up to 275 watts also did not help. they do not buzz at normal listening levels and it wasn't even the deepest bass, but a frequency around 45-50 hz that caused it at loud volumes, I think the manual states they go down to 35 hz. The wire theory is a good one, I only checked the driver structure (Styrofoam drivers) for breaks or separation, played with them for a week looking for the problem with no luck. Whatever, I will use these as target practice for my shotgun if I have to move them more than one more time.

This was the first hit when I Googled. Evidently the VC sometimes comes unglued from the styrofoam.
