I’ve got a dozen or more tubes that I’d like to test. Some of them are of no use to me and I’d like them tested before I trade/sell them. Anyone know where I can borrow a tester or take them to get tested? Thanks

If memory serves me correctly...
"schwarcw" (Carl) donated one to Tom Z. at "the shop"
Not sure of who else still has one(s)...

I didn't know that Carl had anything to do with that. Not surprised though.

I donated a portable unit a while ago. Don't know if Tom still has it.

Greetings,
I have an Eico 667, which is a simple emissions tester, see link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5A_Ji6ZOG4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5A_Ji6ZOG4)

It's not one of those fancy mutual conductance ones like a Hickock, etc. It will tell you if the tube is good or bad, that's about it.

Maybe OBG can fix that Youtube link? :'(

Scorpio,
where are you located? I have a tester you are welcome to borrow or stop out and test those tubes here. I could use a lesson!!!
thanks
Mike

Mike, I’m in Bethel Park. A lesson from me would be a case of the blind leading the blind. I’ve used one tester at Trader Jacks and it didn’t really work. I’ve got a volunteer to help me with testing these tubes. Perhaps after I get schooled a bit I can pass the knowledge on to you.

I will have a tube tester out tomorrow at my garage sale if you want to stop by. See cl ad.
