Title: Looking for cheap STEREO receiver
Post by: gdv on November 01, 2010, 09:58:56 AM
Hopefully, one that is working!   ;D

Looking for $CHEAP$ stereo (not 5.1 or higher) with phono input for friend...  Like an old Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, etc.

Let me know what you have and how much you want...

thanks,
George

George,

I've got a Concord receiver in garage system service right now.  I'd let it go for $25 and you pick it up.

Will have to check on the phono input, but am almost certain it has one.

Have a couple of great old receivers, but I need them. They are not hooked up today, but too many memories in them to let them go.  New stuff is good, but vintage stuff can be just as good and better.  Old receivers mostly gave off a "bright" sound that I prefer.  When you listen with ears and not specs - some are wonderful.

Somebody told me about this stereo shop in the North Hills that sells used gear, but I can't remember the name.

Damn, maybe somebody else here can help me remember.... :D

Dear Tom and all,
guess I forgot to mention my friend's JVC receiver works EXCEPT for the tuner...  So I need a receiver with a WORKING tuner also!   ;)

thanks,
George

Dear "Master"
I never heard of a shop in the North Hills that sells nice working used vintage audio gear...  If you remember the name, please let me know...  Try talking to Tom (OCCD) thought he had some kind of a store...    8)

Store...it is more of a ....  Audio safe house.  Def. Typically, the locations of safe houses are kept secret from all but a limited number of people, for the safety of those hidden within them playing with stereo equipment. :P
