Title: January 2 2010 Meeting

Planning is underway for the first meeting of the new year. Hopefully the weather will behave. Dr Smoke will be working up more good eats. ;) I will also have some new tunes for our listening pleasure.  So , recover fast New Years day :-\ and we will see you at the meeting. 8) There is a new preamplifier at the shop that is kinda interesting.  A little DB Systems preamp with external power supply will be featured.( It does not look like much, but has great reviews. especially the phono section)

Hello all,

I will try to make the next meeting, weather permitting.  Also I plan on bringing a couple little integrated monblock single ended pentode amps from an old Akai.  This uses 12ax7 in the predriver and 6bq5 in the driver stage.  If you have any tubes for rolling, I have heard this can change the sound a lot.  Also this would best presented with a high efficiency speaker, all I have is medium efficiency multi- driver types (I will bring some little celestion 2-ways).

  I did not make the last one, however I got both of my vintage Scott solid state receivers up and running. So it was a good day anyway.

The Energy Ref Con 22's will serve the amps well.

 I just picked up some Dynaco gear off of CL that I can bring if anyone wants to check it out. I got an ST 150 Amp and PAT 4 Preamp.
 I think I drove by the shop before. White building, no sign? Is 6ish a good time to show up?

Eric, the building is a light gray stucco finish. The dead giveaway is there is an Allstate Insurance Agency right next door.

You'd drive right by it if you didn't know it was there.  ;)

Another fun meeting. Eric fired up his Dynaco, and we gave it a good workout.
Pretty respectable performance from that guy.

We also got to hear the pair of TFM-25's in place of the TFM-55 that went home with BB3.
Take care of that case lid, Bill  ;)

I had a great time! ;)  I got the opportunity to meet many of you for the first time.  Tom, Bill, Eric, buttnugget, Master Blaster and I'm sure I forgot someone.  I had to leave early just as the evening was getting underway.  Tom, those eggnog eclaire balls are sinful.  I've been lusting over those.  Tom, thanks for the touch up on the Rogue power supply leads.  The VTA-70 sounded awesome!  I'll see you folks in two weeks!
