Dicky was over a few nights ago and we were listening to tunes. I heard a telephone ring twice at around the 1:20 mark of Led Zeppelin's "The Ocean". He couldn't hear it. I did half a dozen rewinds to assure myself that I wasn't having an auditory hallucination.
Then I googled it. Sure enough, Wikipedia states that there's a faint studio telephone ring that can be heard twice around the 1:20-ish mark in the song.
I think it'd be interesting to see who can / can't hear it.
Aaaaaaaaaand......... GOOOOOOOO! ??? ??? 8)

It's definitely there, unless it's all a mirage caused ny running a high end Onkyo through an 8802 into a pair of Klipsch...
-
In my defense I hear phones for 10 hours a day, so I have learned to ignore that sound.
-
I'll bet Frank can't hear it either.
-
Well I did hear the guitar...
-
I can hear it at about 1:38 into the song. I have the 4 disc set with the crop circle on the front.
-
Yeah. Mine is actually at about 1:28. I think the timing depends on when they actually begin and end the
tracks.
I was listening on "The Complete Studio Recordings" set.
Which system were you listening on?
-
Was listening on my desktop PC system.....Audio Engine A5s.

Hey guys just stumbled upon this thread, seemed to be up my ally, I love picking things out in recordings. Can someone maybe put the lyrics directly after/before/during the part where the telephone comes thru? I listened thru twice but couldn't find it. I am though listening thru an iPod with crappy jack that cuts in and out, as I don't have a real recording . Let me know. I'm interested I'm finding it , thanx
