Just found this forum. Spent 8 years in Pittsburgh in the late 70's and early 80's. Went to school, met my wife, owned my first home in Pittsburgh. Now in the Harrisburg area. I miss Western Pa. and try to get back at least 3 or 3 times a year.
I have just rekindled my interest in electronics of every kind. Currently restoring an old Marantz 2230 that has been boxed up in a closet since 1987.

Howdy.

Welcome to the Forum! The 2230 was the first receiver that I purchased while I was in college. Great little receiver! Tell us more about your musical interests and equipment. Thanks for joining!

I have totally been out of audio for 20+ years, and am re-starting from scratch. Right now, my system, if you could call it that, is the 2230, which I am recapping, and a pair of Sony MDR V6 headphones. I'm waiting on a pair of Pioneer SP-BS41-LR speakers from Newegg, just to have something to play the 2230 into. They were $80 for the pair at Newegg this week, with $1.99 shipping. I couldn't resist.
Long term plan is to get a decent DAC and play flacs off my computer. Maybe a CD player, maybe not. No interest at present in vinyl or a TT.
I like all kinds of music except classical. Rock, blues, soul, jazz, country, basically anything good. I am a big Billy Price fan. Used to see him regularly at Mancini's in McKees Rocks and the Decade in Oakland. I saw Robert Cray on Friday night in Bethlehem. Nothing beats live music.
I also hangout on Audiokarma.

Welcome, Chris. I've seen Robert Cray twice. Once was a very long time ago at the Lowell, MA Auditorium during his Strong Persuader tour. It was easily the best blues show I've ever been too (alas, I never got to see The Iceman Albert Collins before he passed).

Welcome from another Billy Price fan. He is still playing mostly smaller venues around town. We may have been at Mancini's at the same time, back in the day.

Chris, Mancini's is now a strip bar "Club Erotica" - recommended >:D
