Have the same technics CD player ...
Not bad actually... Wish the op amps were
upgradeable

Hey OBG-doesn't three cassette machines qualify for Deekdom?
-
Looks like a JVC KD-85 on the left.

Yes you would be correct. I also have a matching amp for it JVC JA-S77 ( a sleeper amp tons of power )
That set is going back to my little brother. He picked up the amp at a garage sale for free.
It sounded so good it replaced his Pioneer amp he had been running for years but the right side kept cutting out so he put it on the shelf. I got it and fixed the problem , it was a dirty contact on the pre amp switch. 8)

I used to like my JVC KD-55 cassette deck and did alot of mods on it but the ANRS is just not Dolby compatible.
Ended up replacing it with a Sony TC-FX44 which became my Dragon killer after I modded it.
I'm sort of looking for a good 3 head deck now but I do have a Tandberg TCD-440.

Dragon killer? This I have got to hear.

He has a Nakamichi robot deck (RX-XXX) and decided to keep it - he is brave! Only the fearless deal with that mechanical nightmare when it breaks! Yes, he qualifies as a bona fide tape geek. Needs some R2Rs though, or membership may be probationary.
-
Hey i'll take an RX-505.
The Dragon killer is not quite as good as the CR-7A.
The Nak CR7A is the best and its a Dragon killer too.

The 505 is an MR-1 with azimuth-error-safe auto-reverse. It cannot hold a candle to an older and smooth sounding Nak LX-5, based on what I heard. But it is the best of the robotic Naks for sure!

I am sure I can shake loose a R2R or two, but have only two cassette machines. Do I qualify for Deekdom?
