Title: Grundig Console MS-40 US
Post by: Mongojustpawn on April 16, 2015, 10:46:37 PM
Scavenged this last year, during fall clean out days, cops put up tape around the dumpsters the next day. I'm hoping to restore, console is decent, some finish issues, but solid. I don't know about the electronics, removed the amp last night, gave it a general cleaning, the tuner/ preamp has a couple stuck push buttons, looks like kids may have been pounding the buttons. I think it spent it's life in a house with a coal furnace. Anyway here are some pics. Opinions, thoughts, advice welcome.

Is there a second transformer somewhere?   You don't want to do your learning on a hot chassis unit.

2 small transformers, under the input, output sockets, I haven't gotten to the tuner, preamp yet. Btw, I also have this posted on AK, in the tube section.
