Here we go again, another swap meet at my building in Natrona Heights (15065). Should be a little better than last year, a sold a couple vehicles in the garage and the office should make a nice dedicated listening room. Let's get the word out this year and try to attract some new buyers/sellers. I know one month is not a lot of time, but should be enough. I am thinking a $5 outside spot, $10 indoor spot should be applied to all sellers, this is not for me, it will go to the food and drink fund. Please feel free to ask questions through PMs and not here on this thread. Thank you for looking, Nick
-
look forward to it Nick... please provide the address
-
I didn't get to see the facility last year, but put me down for an outdoor spot. Thanks.
-
Sweet... will bring the speaker cable...
Klaus - what are you bringing so I know what I am buying?
-
2875 Freeport Rd Natrona Hts PA 15065
-
Is this on memorial day Monday? What is the start time?
Pepe-what do you want/need (my amps are not for sale)?
-
Found the date in the header (still on my first coffee).
-
What kinda hours foed this run? Unfortunately I will be working that Saturday, unlikely to get that far north until 5 or so.
-
Hoping to make it and meet some of you.
-
Won't make it this year. 750+ miles is too far to drive.
-
Please pm me for one of two reasons:
1st, if you want a spot
2nd, if you are coming
I need a head count to prepare (food, drinks, alcohol) and only four people have RSVP'd for spots. I am not trying to be dramatic, but, I am a very busy man and this event is not helping my cause. If there is not more interest, I would just prefer not to have it. Thank you for taking a minute to read this. Nick
-
PM sent. Looking forward to this.
-
If I can help you by getting flyers into some of the thrifts, etc., let me know that as well.
-
I plan to be there. Can send a food/beer/?? deposit to your Paypal account as proof. I like turkey hot dogs, thanks.
-
Nick,
Did you get my PM from two weeks ago?
-
Carl, I did, thank you good sir. I guess that one is on me for not returning the pm.
-
No problem Nick! I will see you there!

This is the flyer I made to pass out at thrifts, etc.. I showed it to Nick and he asked that I post it here in case anyone else wants to distribute it. Even if you don't print it and pass flyers out, you can always put it on your FB wall or use other means of electronic distribution. The pic above is shrunk for the board. Here is a link to the full size picture...

When I followed that link, the page with the flyer came up, followed by numerous pop-ups warning me that I needed to download 'updates' for computer protection. Trying to close the "warning" page produced even more warnings.
I would like to print and pass out some flyers in the Irwin/Greensburg area. Any chance you can email one to novalis15642atyahoodotcom?
thx
Mike

From Photobucket? Very odd.
-
I didn't have any of those problems that Ed described.
What browser do you use? Do you have any virus or pop blocker software?
-
Just one week away!

I'm getting my stuff together and am even surprised myself at the amount of crap I've accumulated. I hope we get lots of buyers.
-
I should be there but I doubt I'll have anything to sell.
Anders
-
I am planning to come and bring a few items
-
I'm really looking forward to this.
-
I've got my stuff there: wood Stereo rack with glass doors, Marantz cassette deck, Marantz receiver with wood case (2230), PSB subwoofer, Minimus 7 and Minimus 77 speakers, some records and other goodies. Bring cash! See you there!
-
I've got 7 receivers (mostly lower mid-fi stuff), two CD players, two tables, a tuner, two EQs, seven pairs of speakers and some records and other odds and ends. When I open the car door in the morning it's all going to come flying out like a snake in a can.
-
I had so much fun. A big thanks to Tom and Nick for hosting and to everyone who made the day so enjoyable.
-
It was a blast! Great to see so many Vintage hifi folks there. Like a reunion of sorts. Thanks Tom and Nick!! I am already looking forward to next year!
-
I'd like to add my Thanks to Tom and Nick, and everybody else who made a new guy welcome.

Really nice to see old friends and meet new ones! We need to do that more than once a year.

Pics are great as always Pepe, any chance I could get copies of the ones featuring Anders' 45 player?
-
Anyone have a decent turntable left over. Without cartridge is fine. Thx
Bunni I had a 45 changer that looked exactly like that one when I was a kid. It was my parents and had tubes.
-
Had a blast. Wish I could have stayed longer. Attendance seemed to have been better than in the past (and not just VHF members) and people were buying stuff. Thanks Nick and Tom
-
Who had/ bought the Carver TX11b?
-
I want to thank Tom and Nick for putting this together again. I had a great time seeing the guys I met last year and meeting some new folks who I had previously on met online. Its a lot easier connecting names, face and stories in person.
I agree that more once a year should be a goal. Maybe a fall get together could be do-able.
-
Nice pics Pepe... my compliments to the photographer (not you, your daughter).... bike butt looks a little fat in the pic lol but she is an old girl and has a few miles on her :-) as do I!
-
Agree, most photo creds go to my daughter (I had the smaller camera so do deserve some!). Bunni - will send you larger pics of Anders TT, I think there were more, just posted some.
Thank you Nick and Tom (Nick: I did try to go to Killians for lunch - they open at 4 on Saturdays :P)
Happy Sunday everyone...

pbj, see the shout box.

Who had the Dyna tuner and did it sell? It would be a nice match for my PAS.
I was too busy selling to really take note of what others were selling.
-
got off work at 3pm, called Tom to see what was up because I was going to come to the meet, but apparently it was already over. oh well.

Anders has a few of them he worked on to display at a fairly recent PARS meeting. They do have tubes. That one was the best of the bunch so far. If he ever has any time, he can get the rest finished.

Thanks so much Pepe, and your daughter has a good camera eye like her dad!

I would like to thank everyone for coming out this year. Nick

If there is any chance of a fall sale, please say so soon (I guess it would be Nick's call). I loved selling stuff that way and have a few things I had planned to CL, but will hold off if there is any chance this will be happening again this year. I for one would love to do it and would certainly work hard again to build it up with flyers, social media, etc..
-
Really wanted to stop by, but I've been so short on time lately it just didn't happen. I go away for one week and come back to four weeks worth of work to catch up on. Sounds like you guys had some good fun.
Did the maggot box sell?
-
the maggotbox did NOT sell somehow. it's a great sounding amp though.
-
I would have loved to attend this year, but just too many other things! Life!!! :P
Sounds like a great time, I enjoyed myself last year...
Thanks again to Nick & Tom... maybe next year (or next time)...
George

Nobody got to hear it that I am aware of. I already have one.

I wish I had noticed that Dyna tuner. Does anyone know who was selling it?
-
The gentleman at the table to the right of Carl's had the Dyna FM tuner; between Carl and Tom's. Dale was the name? I may be forgetting his name, Carl can confirm.
-
It was Dale, Forum name "Confused". He lives in Monroeville not far from Anders.
-
Was he the tall guy with the Hawaiian short or the shorter fellow with the shaved head?
I didn't get a chance to introduce myself, and, since we meet but once a year, I was doing my best associating screen names, faces and real names of folks I met last year. .
-
I think he was the short guy with the shaved head, though I'm not certain.
