Any one have, or know where I can get a high end VCR? 4 video heads, HiFi audio and preferably an s-video out?

Right now I am using a Sony SLV-D271 that I bought for $10 at the flea market.  Has S-VHS and HiFi so it is hard to look for a replacement when this one does the job.

I've seen some of those Sonys at the thrifts from time to time, but always passed when I realized it was VHS.   I knew there was a market for Beta Hi-Fi decks, but had no idea there was a demand for those.

Will do.   I only remembered it because of the inside of the fold down door.   I thought that was pretty nifty.   BTW, is S-VHS fully compatible with standard VHS?

SVHS machines should play standard VHS recorded tapes, but maybe not the other way around.

Those are probably the sweetest VCRs I have ever seen.  I never knew that the VCR machine was so good.

This is a Panasonic "Pro-Line" AG-1970 S-VHS recorder.   On the last pic you may be able to see the sticker that is labeled "commercial use only".   I suspect that is because it only has S-Video and BNC outputs, no line out.   I was encouraged by that and by the "B" sticker which I deliberately left on the face.   I figure if this was the B deck in someone's set up, then perhaps it didn't get as much use (and wear) as the "A" deck.   You may also notice the record level slider.   There is a meter on the LED face.   This deck seems to have everything that any VHS ever did.   The last one on eBay went for a buck fiddy (who knew?).

The kids had a good time watching "Aladdin" on it this evening to make sure it was in proper working order.   It looked as good to me as a 480 broadcast, something I've never said about any of my VCRs.   I only watched for a bit as I am still sad over Robin Williams (sappy, I know).   Anyway, I think I found a winner.

My needs have been met, but the Panasonic is a nice machine.  "S" video does approach 480P resolution (the same as Laser Discs), the EDTV standard before full blow HDTV came to market.
