Witness the Pioneer RT-707.   My 1st RTR ever was a 707.  It was my learning platform.  I would mess with the bias and eq pots and eventually bring it to Anders and Tom to fix the damage I had done and explain what I should not do in the future.  These are great RTRs - very reliable and relatively simple to fix when they break.  Although the 1st one sounded pretty lousy,  I eventually experienced a good one (well, one hot-rodded by Tom and sold to RevAmish [or whatever his handle was - he quit the forum some time back]) and got hooked on the bass.  What you see in the picture is my 8th (yes, eighth) RT-707.  I keep looking for fresher versions of this platform and I think this one is the one to beat for now.   Great deck, always keep one around (thank you Ian!).
