Title: Holst: The Planets
Post by: scorpio333 on January 11, 2016, 10:26:33 PM
Been looking for a cleaner copy than the $1 Previn LP I have. Any conductor/symphony. Saw this performed live at Heinz Hall back in 5th grade 30 odd yrs ago. I want to shake the walls!!!

I know I have a Telarc around somewhere, but things are a bit scattered at the moment.

STaL, I imagine you'd be the guy to nab them up in the thrifts. If you find one, great, if not I'll have fun digging for one. I very rarely listen to classical, so I usually pass right over them.

Cleaned my Previn twice today. More listenable, but still a bunch of surface scratches. I was at Jerry's yesterday and could not find a single copy. First time I was back in the Classical section and the classical guy wasn't there.

I've heard the Mehta/LA and Steinberg/Boston are two great recordings to look for.
