I just scored a lightly used mmc2 with original stylus.  If interested pm me for price.

Was it the one attached to the B&O table on CL?

Maybe, was it on a 8002?

I saw that one.   I was wishing I had the funds just to get the cart.

No-not an 8002, but the post is gone, so someone snagged it.  I use an MMC 2 on my rig; always liked the moving iron approach.

Is this a B&O mount cart or a generic mount for any tonearm?

B&O mount, which requires an adaptor for use on a traditional arm.  Soundsmith may have them

But you don't want to use it on a traditional arm.   It is coveted by B&O people because you can't use a regular cart on those tables and these are no longer in production.   It is tiny and requires a very small/light arm.

I have used it on a Thorens TD 125 Mark II with an SME arm and currently use it on a Music Hall MMF 9 with the stock Rega arm.  In both cases tracking weight is about 1.2 grams.  Performance is excellent

Soundsmith reverse engineered the B&O cartridge series and manufacturers new replacements for all of the B&O tables using the last generation of cartridges, as well as using the same and similar (as well as substantially upgraded) units in their "traditionally" mounted cartridges.

I wouldn't have guessed.   I haven't had any luck tracking big arms that light.

One trick with these carts is to apply little or no anti skate.  I use none on the Music Hall.

I was shocked how much the MM2 I pulled of an old Beogram went for when I sold mine...  Still cheaper than the Sound Smith alternatives though
