Title: WTB: Dac
Post by: RnR on August 16, 2016, 02:04:50 PM
Hey guys,

I'm helping my brother put together a system.  He does a lot of streaming so I'm looking for a decent DAC.  If anyone see's one for sale or has one they aren't using please let me know.  Thanks!

PBJ is running the Schiit Modi which can be had b-stock for like 80 bucks.  Not a lot of features, but it's a fantastic little bugger.  Or you can go big or go home with Antelope Audio's Rubicon for 40k.

Or there might be an option between $80 and $40,000.    >:D

Don't even know what you're talking about haha

Seriously though, I know Jim Pittsburgh loves his Schiit Bifrost too, which I too think is an awesome DAC.  I think they're only about tree fiddy new.

Nice suggestions thanks,

I'll keep my eyes pealed for a used one, and if not maybe a retailer will be blowing them out soon.

also not a bad device.  personally I don't like the format of it being a USB dongle, but that's just me.

When you are using it w your laptop inside a plane on a 15 hour flight to India, it is a blessing.   :D

For mobility, I have no doubt that it's awesome.

Personally I like the Yggdrasil but the Modi is now multi-bit $250. Give that a look Steve. I used a Modi in TheOfficeRig(tm) until it got nuked. Nice stuff from Schiit and works waay above price point.
