I received a Denon AVR1804 receiver and when I plug it in the standby power light comes on...
I press the power button and nothing happens...
The power button does NOT have the distinct click/engaged feel all other Denons I've had or tried...
Question 1, does the power button on the 1804 have a momentary contact or is it an on/off switch?
I took the switch apart, and of course, it popped out of my hand and onto the floor, so I may have lost a part or two... ???
TIA,
George

Hi George -
The front switch (this one on the left) fell apart when it fell to the floor?
-
Pepe,
Yes that one...
It did not look like I lost anything, but not sure...
Again, all of those types of switches I've replaced before had the "click " to stay on or off...

My sense given the vintage of that receiver (modern) is that it is a momentary action switch that sends a pulse to a CPU. You should be able to simulate the action by crossing the wires briefly.

Agreed. I also suspect it is in protection for some reason and has nothing to do with the power switch.
