Title: Epson 8350 1080P projector - South Hills $325
Post by: raynist on June 18, 2017, 05:35:52 PM
4 or 5 years old.  Works perfectly!

Newer filter and lamp was replaced about a year ago.   I will get the exact hours on the lamp and post it later tonight but we only use it once or twice a week for movie night.

I can post pictures later tonight.

Thanks
Ray

I see....  do I smell a 4K projector in your future?  Or did you get it for father's day?   >:D

That was the plan although true 4k projectors are too much right now.   I got a new Sony 45 ES for the better blacks and 3D.    The plan is for this to hold me over for a few years until true 4K projectors are more affordable.

To anyone in the forum who has been to my cave and liked my projector setup - please note that this Epson produces as good an image as mine and is actually a bit brighter,  so the HT room does not need to be as dark.  It is a really nice projector and should have plenty of life left in it if the bulb and filter were changed a year ago.  I recommend it at this price.

Thanks Pepe!

The bulb has 1568 hours on it and was bought 2 years ago (sorry for the misinformation in the original post).   They are rated to 4000 hours but I didn't get quite that much on the first bulb.   The first bulb got real dim around 3500 hours and was replaced with this one.

I think the hour counter goes up 2 each time you turn it on so it has less than the shown hours for sure.

I can hook it right back in to my system quickly if anyone wants to check it out.
