Title: My system in its new home
Post by: paden501 on November 24, 2009, 10:19:22 PM
Hey all.  Here's my system in its new location... the living room of our new house.

Eventually the tower AV stand will be replaced by a low TV stand and we're eyeing up a 54" Sony Bravia to go between the speakers.... someday.

For now the living room is just an audio room (which is ok by me  :D).

Before someone else has a chance to say it, I know that's not the ideal perfect speaker placement for SDA speakers (they're too close to the sidewalls by about a foot), but for my wife's sake that's where they are, at least when I'm not using them.

Thanks all.

It does sound good.  I'm working on pricing out a crossover upgrade for the 1Cs currently, hoping that it'll sound REALLY nice when I'm done.  Wish me luck.

Nice system. You should do the tweeter upgrade, big improvement.. If you are a member of club Polk, the tweeters are $50.00 each with free shipping. You can sell the tweeters you have now for $25.00 each on epay, and you only end up spending $100.00 for a big improvement.

Thanks Falcon.  I have been saving my pennies for a tweet upgrade.  I'm actually working on doing the crossovers first though just because I want to take on a project.  We're also buying a new entertainment center for between the speakers in the next couple of days, and some couches for the room so I don't have to sit on an egg-crate while listening.... so I probably won't be able to afford the RD0-194 tweeters for a while.

Here's what we're thinking for entertainment ctr.

Of course I don't have the nice big TV to go on top of it either.... but someday!

Well the TV arrived yesterday! I still don't have the entertainment center (due in Monday) but even on a coffee table, the TV adds a nice touch.   :o

Very nice.
I used the coffee table too when I first got my flat panel.  ;D

I eventually found a small AV cabinet for the Receiver and other stuff,
and hung the panel on the wall.

Thanks all.  The TV is nice.  I continue to be suprised at how well the SDAs perform as home theater speakers also.

I'll put up a few more photos once I get the entertainment center this coming week.

Levin Furniture.  They had it on display there.  I bought it from another place though, (www.fireplacesdirect.com (http://www.fireplacesdirect.com)) because Levin couldn't deliver it before xmas.
