Title: Can anyone give me advice on DIY headphone amps?
Post by: paden501 on February 12, 2010, 09:59:32 PM
I'm looking at maybe doing a DIY headphone amp for use at work.

Here's what I have in mind:

I've heard good things about cMoy head amps (and they're dirt cheap to make, which is a bonus)

Does anyone here have any experience with these?

Thanks.

Are you going DIY to save money or for the fun of it? If you are just looking for an inexpensive headphone amp, do you have a budget? I just went through the headphone amp thing and I might have some suggestions. I am also using Sennheisers.

Ron,

I decided to start by building a cMoy design headphone amp.  I just finished it up last night, so I'll put some photos up tomorrow (I took it in to work today)

The thing sounds pretty good.  I built it into the aluminum case that my Shure M97xe phono cartridge came in.
