Title: Long shot on help.
Post by: RuralTom on July 28, 2019, 08:59:27 AM
So hard to figure out the right place to post now that the 'chat box' is defunct.

I imagine this is a long shot, especially as I have not actually met most here FTF but, in times of need...

A pair of speakers turned up that I've been looking for for a while, they are a bit far away -looking at a 12 hour round trip- which is not a problem.  The actual issue is their size: I have nothing 'at my disposal' that can possible bring home 200+#, 6ft tall monsters.

Anyone have/have a line on a van/covered pick up that could be borrowed for a day?

Would they fit in the back of a Ford Freestyle?

I'm not sure.  They stand 73" tall (6'1").  I believe that's with the 2"+/- plinth, that should be removable.  I imagine one would want 74 clear inches.

I think we are fine on height but need width and depth.   I can check when I get home.   I'm off tomorrow if you want to road trip then.

Surprisingly decent size outside of height...  they look to be 14" wide and 24" tall each, 154# a pop.

Since my initial post here, I found that the seller is out of town from tomorrow thru the 10th, so we have time to make arrangements.  I can't see my original post from here, but to completely clarify...  they are located in Winston-Salem NC, easily 11 hours round trip.

I got that.   Time and size don't seem to be an issue but seller availability is.   After tomorrow I won't have any time for a couple weeks.   Too bad, a road trip with you could have been great fun.

If this is still a need and they are still available on Aug 12-14 let me know.

Thanks Mark, seller returns from vacation on August 10, so the 14 is a real possibility.  I'll keep you posted.

FYI, the 13th would be better for me if you get a choice.

Actually I got the dates a bit wrong.   Just Aug 12 & 13.   But then I am also open Aug 19-21.
