Title: RSD 2020
Post by: scorpio333 on March 05, 2020, 06:25:55 PM
Couple good ones on the list, Black Crowes Lions was a nice surprise for me. I'll now start agonizing over what the number of releases really means. Is 3000 enough to go round, or should I grab my ankles and prepare?

3000 means The Attic will have a couple dozen.

Well, well RSD is finally arriving this coming Saturday.

I've only bought one record since March. ONE!!!

Not sure I'll be able to make it out on Saturday, we're having an estate sale that day.

Are you selling anything cool?   Records?

Condolences if it is a true estate sale.

If you find Christmas stuff cool, yes. Tons of homemade ceramics and even a ceramic kiln. There are two console stereos and maybe a box of Christmas records. Other than that just the regular ol stuff people accumulate over 50 yrs.

This is my wife's Great Aunt's estate.

I'm glad there is nothing on that list that I have to have.   What is usually a celebration just seems like a PITA this year.   Suck it, 2020.

True. This round there's just one on the list I have to have. I may go late afternoon or wait til Sunday and order it on the web.

Just got home from the Attic, got what I was after. Seemed to have waaaay more copies of certain titles, like so many I doubt they'll ever all sell. He said he got 40 copies of Lions.

Fred said everything ran smooth and he thinks everyone in line got what they wanted. They went down the line and took customer orders, then let 5 people in at a time. He thinks that's how he's going to do RSD going forward. Good to know since we have two more coming up.

The Monk box was sold out at the Attic by the time I got in.  They were taking lists from folks in line and pulling the titles in advance.  I think they were only letting four or five people in the store at a time.  It seemed empty, asi flipped thru the stacks which was weird, as the last time i went it was elbow to elbow packed.
When I got home,  I found a Tommy Bolin Live lp instead of the Mark Bolan/T-Rex lp that was on my list.  So, unless anyone here is interested in it, I am going to swing by there tomorrow and exchange it for something else.  It was $30 plus tax, so I guess I should try EBAy as there are several there already for $69.99 (with free shipping!)

This has been my go to place when I missed out on a RSD release. They'll put leftovers up for sale tomorrow. Not looking good for the Monk though...

My buddy and I agreed on the way home...we're ok with a couple dollars more per title if it means we can have a record store in the area.
